RENOMIA at the ASPAR conference

RENOMIA representatives attended a conference organised by the Association of Insurance and Risk Management Specialists (ASPAR CZ - a member of FERMA).

RENOMIA was one of the conference partners and Marek Kalbac, Director of the International Department at RENOMIA, presented a lecture on “International Insurance Programmes”. Along with Mark, the conference was also attended by Managing Partner, Pavel Nepala, and Ivo Matuška, Director of the Prague branch office.

The Association of Insurance and Risk Management Specialists Czech Republic is a professional and educational platform which helps increase awareness in the areas of insurance and risk management. It organises seminars, meetings, and workshops for its members, of which the ASPAR conference is the most important. And, as market leader, RENOMIA naturally wanted to be directly involved.

"The conference has clearly shown that the insurance and risk management profession is developing, driven not only by the requirements of regulators, but also mainly due to the demands of companies for effective risk management. We can see that firms are becoming increasingly aware of how important it is to understand their risks and to manage them – and on a global scale,” Pavel Nepala, Managing Partner of RENOMIA, said during the conference.

And international risk was the theme of the lecture given by the Director of the International Department of RENOMIA, Marek Kalbáč. “There are 140 thousand international companies operating in the world. This alone makes it clear that international insurance is a big topic. Moreover, risks of all kinds are growing and regulation is being tightened, so it’s no wonder that multinational groups pay close attention to international risks” Marek Kalbac stated in his lecture.

Insuring risks associated with their overseas operations is very complicated for multinationals. These include cultural, regulatory and legislative differences which do not facilitate a unified approach.

“The ideal solution is to use the services of a strong partner who can prepare a tailor-made international insurance programme that harmonises client requirements with practical options within individual countries,” said Marek Kalbáč. “In his lecture, Marek clearly showed that RENOMIA is undoubtedly just such a strong partner,” added Pavel Nepala.

Other conference topics included the insurance of cyber risks, personal injury, product recall in the car industry, settling claims in the area of commercial risk, and business interruption claims.

Ivo Matuška, who heads the Prague branch of RENOMIA, summarised the conference by saying, “Personal injury was a very interesting topic, but I believe that the programme’s centrepiece was Marek’s lecture on international insurance programmes."
